Contrary to most people’s opinions, home schooling is not just limited to primary school students. In fact, there are many home schooling courses available for college students as well both offline and online.
Home schooling has been gaining more popularity in recent years because parents wanted more control over their child’s education. Parents wanted to oversee what their children is learning and teach them the right way.
There are also afraid of peer influences from other students. They may pick up bad habits such as smoking, alcoholism, gambling and violence etc.
For higher level college education, there are several types of home schooling programs available. It depends on the type of education you prefer your child to undertake. Most home schooling college programs are quite flexible in that the program curriculum can be changed to suit the student rather than the other way around in traditional colleges.
One type is religion college home schooling. They have home schooling curriculum that have religious studies as part of their education.
Another type focus on the science while another focus on the arts. It can also be a combination of the above since college home schooling is quite flexible. You can cater your home schooling curriculum based on the interest of your child.
One thing all these college home schooling programs have in common is that they can be taught at the pace your child is comfortable with. Since each child learns differently and at different pace, the college home schooling program can be altered to suit each child’s learning progress.
There are also college home schooling programs offered in your local area. Some are theme based while others are focused on a particular subject. It will help if you can find yourself aligned with a home schooling group in your local community, if not you can do it online via the numerous homeschooling forums online.

Accredited distance learning is the future of the educational experience. It is already popularized in Europe and even in Asia and it is now becoming a huge part of our experience here in North America. With a little bit of technological ingenuity and a lot of persistence, people have pushed to get distance learning institutions accredited so that they are as recognized as traditional schooling.
In this respect, we can now cite our home schooling and our accredited distance learning as the equivalent as a traditional schooling level and do not have to be looked down on because we have not “entered the fray” of traditional public or private institutional schooling.
With accredited distance learning, you can begin to make your educational process about you once again. You can learn at your pace and engage your mind in the way in which you know it works best without being forced to learn a certain way.
While the “real world” may seemingly no longer function that way in the minds of the detractors, the truth is that the world is turning more and more toward distance learning and online educational systems than ever before. It is safer, less expensive, and more reliable as an educational tool than traditional schooling. The experience is genuine and real, too, and the learning capabilities of the students measure higher than the average student.
Learn The Distance Learning Difference
You can save a significant amount of money by attending school online. It is with this special educational value that you can start to set and obtain a larger set of goals for your life and learn to engage in real tests for your life instead of the social clamouring that goes on in public schools.
You can rest easy with the knowledge that with an online education you will have your educational goals met with ease and you can start to set some of your own personal goals to coincide with what is needed from school. Distance learning is about the student first, and everything else second.
With accredited distance learning, you can begin to foster the values of a great educational experience in yourself. You can gain confidence because you are setting your own limits within the course material and you can gain funds because you will be saving a lot of money. With so much to gain and with nothing to lose, it’s a wonder why more people are not using accredited distance learning to meet their educational needs.

Just as with any education decision, an online bachelor degree should not be something that you take lightly. In this day of fierce competition and an even fiercer pace, learning is one of the reliable methods to furthering yourself and your career. But are online bachelor degrees something that will get you to where you want to go?
The idea of an online bachelor degree can seem too easy. Because there’s no real classroom and no teacher than you can see necessarily, it sometimes seems like a completely virtual landscape that might not carry the same weight as a traditional university setting. While that might have been the case in earlier years of correspondence classes and courses, the Internet has proven to be the right setting for learning about the global marketplace. You can reach out to distant schools and learning resources without ever leaving your home or stepping on campus. And because the Internet has become so widely used, the idea of being schooled through its technology is also becoming more accepted.
The first thing that’s on your mind is whether or not your next employer is going to look at your online bachelor degree and feel that it is legitimate. After all, you don’t want to spend a lot of your time or your money on something that might be deemed worthless in the place where it matters the most. According to recent studies, businesses hiring professionals are now considering an online degree to be just as acceptable as a university degree. However, it does depend where you get your online degree. For example, choosing a widely known school is the better option than the cheapest Internet educational institution that no one has ever heard of. A good rule to follow is that well known schools are equated with turning out well respected degrees.
There are a vast number of online bachelor degree programs to choose from as well. For example, you might want to take a business degree program or private sector accounting. Others like the option of taking the in demand health services programs. No matter what you might be interested in, there may very well be an online school for you, so thinking that you can’t find what you’re looking for from an online bachelor degree isn’t really a good excuse.
And of course, there’s the question of whether or not the college environment is something that might be necessary for your career in the future. Maybe there really is something to being on campus and interacting with fellow students. With an online bachelor degree, you might actually find it easier to study and focus on your studies because of the lack of social interaction and peer pressure. However, if you feel that you need that sort of stimulation, perhaps an online degree is not a good fit.
Just as with any serious schooling, you will also want to ask yourself about whether you can handle the pressure and the work that goes along with an online bachelor degree. Because the courses are more intense due to the limited interaction with a teacher and a student, you might have trouble motivating yourself to do the coursework on your own. An online bachelor degree program is very much self guided, and that can teach you very quickly about the importance of time management.
The choice to get an online bachelor degree is one that only you can make. However, if you’re looking for a campus that’s always open and that can give you the individualized attention that you crave, going to an online school can be a great way to get a degree.

I’m currently in my last year of high-school, and was planning on going to college next year. Except i still need two more credits to graduate.
So i was wondering if i could do Online Schooling while i’m still in school ?
i live in Ontario/Canada,
i know it’s probably different in certain countries.
Yes, you can do this in many places. The process is often known as "dual credit" or "dual enrollment". Here’s a website I found about dual credit programs in Ontario straight from your local government: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/6ways/dual.html
Good luck.

If you want a business career, but find a traditional school to be too much of a time or money commitment, a business bachelor degree online may be right for you. There are many schools to choose from, and these degrees can allow you to advance in your career. Plus, since the business bachelor degree online programs can be completed from home, in a self-paced, guided independent-study environment, you can continue in your current job while studying. This allows more flexibility for students who cannot afford the time or money to go to traditional full-time schools.
A business bachelor degree online is not for everyone, however. Also, not all business bachelor degree online programs are good ones. Some programs offer little value and are not recognized by employers. Also, not all programs will prepare you for the employment opportunities you may want. For these reasons, it is a good idea to target a job first and then look into the business bachelor degree online programs that are right for that job. Before looking for degree programs, look for an industry or, better yet, a specific position that you want. Speak to the people in charge of hiring in the industry or specific company. Find out whether they even consider business bachelor online degrees as qualifications. If they do, find out which degrees are well thought of in the industry. This will save you much aggravation and will help you narrow down your program options to include only the ones that can actually help you achieve your goals.
Once you have your list of business bachelor degree online programs, look at your choices more closely. Any program you consider should be accredited, or recognized as a legitimate educational opportunity. Also, compare programs specifically. Find out who will be teaching you and how easily you can reach your instructors for help. See if past graduates were happy with the program and if they obtained good jobs after graduating. Getting answers to each of these questions will give you a better look at your options. In general, look for the business bachelor degree online program with the happiest, and most successful graduates and the programs with promising, attentive instructors.
If you are getting your business bachelor degree online, you will also need to find money for your schooling. Online programs tend to be less expensive than their in-class counterparts. There is no classroom time to pay for and no commuting expenses. Online programs have lower overhead costs and so may charge you less. Of course, you will also not have to move across the country and move into a dorm to complete your business bachelor degree online. However, you do still have to pay for books, fees, and tuition costs, and these can add up, even if you are working while you pursue your degree. Some schools offer financial aid even for distance and online education students. Check with the financial aid office of your school of choice if this is going to be a necessity for you. Also, don’t overlook your employer as a potential source of scholarships. Many employers help their employees pay for their education since education creates better employees. It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask whether there is any sort of program in place at your workplace.
Finally, you will want to budget your time while you pursue your business bachelor degree online. While online programs do allow you to work and study at the same time, keep in mind that good programs do require considerable time and effort to complete. If you are working and studying, you will need to schedule study time so that you can focus on your education, too, and get the skills you need to advance your career. Creating a timetable and getting assistance around the house can help. Since most online programs are self-paced and take less time than traditional degrees, the suddenly-large workload is only temporary and you can certainly fit your studies into whatever free time you have now, but once you sign up for the program, be sure to stay committed to it.

Moodle: An Online Teacher’s Dream
We have run into some challenges as more and more universities and high schools move to e-learning and more parents start home schooling. First, cost. The traditional e-learning platforms are expensive. Secondly, usability. Other platforms I have used have been cumbersome, awkward, and quite frankly confusing for many of my students (and I teach graduate school). Additionally, many people who are currently teaching either are resistant to embracing online learning, or have used the other platforms and gotten frustrated. Moodle is a “What You See Is What You Get—WYSIWYG) sort of program…It is intuitive, point and click.
Last year, I started developing an online master’s program for the University of Florida’s Department of Counselor Education. After wrangling with other popular online teaching programs, we came across Moodle. It was a dream come true (especially for my Department Chair because it was free). For those of you old enough to remember, going from WebCT/Blackboard to Moodle was like going from using DOS (remember the black screen where you had to type cd/ all the time) to Windows. I was thrilled!
Moodle is GPL (General Public License). That means you can download it for free—forever. Within each lesson you can link to specific websites (like Online, Full Text Children’s Textbooks), .pdfs or Word documents. This lets your students/children go exactly where you want them to go. You have a built-in grade-book and can add auto-scored quizzes (set them up by filling in a pre-designed form), writing assignments, forum posts, wikis (i.e. wikipedia.com) etc. I have yet to find something you cannot do with Moodle. There is even a plug-in so you can build virtual chemical elements and one that you can use to create podcasts, rss feeds and more!!! Get the feeling I am excited…
You can even have it customized for a reasonable price (including free if you do it yourself—it is not that hard) see Theme Gurus). I liked Moodle so much I even had Theme Gurus design my business website—logo, paypal integration and all. Himmat Singh and his associates from ThemeGurus provided unparalleled customer service and personal attention (and a really reasonable price) while customizing my site –see (like My Site)
If your school district is thinking about going to e-learning and you want to really make it easy for your faculty and students, Moodle is the way to go. It has the three things I look for in a program—free, easy and customizable—oh, and it really is stable.
As a side note for home school parents: About a year ago we decided to start home schooling our children. My son is quite gifted in math and science and our particular district had no advanced programs for first graders. He was bored, miserable and his love for learning was getting squashed like a bug. If you are home schooling and want to really keep your kids on-track, Moodle is the way to go. It has the three things I look for in a program—free, easy and customizable.

Can somebody tell me the difference between home schooling in high school and Online Schooling?
I am a sophmore in high school and am looking at both opitions but nobody can really tell me about home schooling.
arlington texas
i just moved from ohio and do not want to go to a public high school, so I am looking for an online high school
and no I didnt drop out
I am going into law enforcement after i get my education
and live in arlington texas now
Homeschooling generally covers any schooling done under the guidance of parents or guardians. Some homeschoolers use an online program, others use traditional texts and still others create their own curriculum from a variety of sources (library, internet, local co-ops, etc.).
Some online schooling is run by the public schools or the state, such as the K12 programs that are available in some areas. These types of programs are not homeschooling, but rather public schooling at home because the parents are not the responsible parties, the public school is the one doing the administration.

An online university degree can help to increase one’s chances of earning a higher income from a job, instead of settling for a position that will limit them because of lack of education. Online university degree offers wide variety of online programs; such as Undergraduate, Graduate, Doctorate, and Professional courses. The specific courses offered include disciplines such as business management and administration, criminal justice, health, information technology, nursing, education, human resources, call center professional training, and project management.
Studying on the Internet is a convenient way to earn an education because it won’t interfere with work and saves time and energy. Online university degrees can help students to pace themselves and get needed schooling while still enjoying life. The classes offered through an online university degree might only require a minimal amount of work during the week as opposed to classes at a regular college. That can be an added benefit so as not to overload the student’s schedule.
Internet programs can be helpful because their courses are designed to interact with professors on an email or Internet basis, instead of being engaged in class work and group projects which is a time consuming process for the workers and employers. Those falling into this category might benefit from pursuing an Internet degree. There are numerous websites that offer profiles for different colleges and universities, including web universities.
Web studies can be a blessing to those who desire to use their time and talents in the required period. They work hard and might be serving in remote countries that don’t have schools near them. That’s where an online university degree can be a great asset.
There is a wide choice of online courses that are offered by various colleges and universities. Some of the courses offered are general, while others are specific. It is therefore important that you survey all the options available, and then identify the course that is best suited to your requirements and the university that is best equipped to provide you with an in-depth learning of the course. Ensure that the teaching faculty for the course of your choice is qualified and that all necessary technical support will be provided to you in your online communications with the Institute.
After having decided your specific course and the learning center, you need to open a channel of communication with the institution. Each institution can provide the student with specific requirements. An online degree program may include purchasing textbooks or purchasing an e-book which allows the student to access the book online, usually at cheaper costs. Through an online degree program, links might be provided in the course syllabus allowing for additional instruction or templates to use to complete class assignments. Do a search on the Internet today for online degree programs and find out the vast opportunities available to anyone possessing a computer and Internet service. Attending an online university is a legitimate, convenient, and flexible way for you to advance you education, as well as your career and personal potential.

My parents work all day. But i want to be home schooled.
Do they have to be home if i want to do Online Schooling?
no mine aren’t I am home schooled with SOS home schooling and my parents don’t have to grade my daily work the computer does it so my mom does not need to be there. I love mine. But your parents don’t have to be home as long as you are responsible enough to handle it. That is why my parents aren’t going to quit their job to sit there and watch us do work.
