What do you consider college educated?
In today’s world there are so many different ways to earn a degree- online, associate from community college, technical degree, private institutions, public universities. when someone says "college educated" are all of these considered college educated?
I’d say it was just in the traditional sense of the word as in, you actually went to college and got a degree.

They fit the definition, yes. But I’ll agree with the first poster in saying that you must actually attend classes in the traditional sense to be considered college-educated by me. Maybe I’m biased, though, because I go to a real, physical university.

If you attend college, online or offline, (private or public) and get a degree…then you are "college educated".

When you fill out any typical job application, there are places to list your educational background, and usually it will start with high school, then some college, college, and graduate school. So in regards to filling out a job application at any day job, college educated would be considered "some college", but that does not mean you have a degree. If you want to be truly college educated per se, well you need proof of that, which would be at least an associates degree. But those degrees are minor compared to a bachelors, masters, or professional degrees, so if you want to be considered "college educated" at Boeing, they are not going to hire someone with a high school diploma over someone with a masters in mechanical engineering–it’s just not going to happen.
Whether you go to a traditional four year institution, go to community college, or get a degree on line, the factor that matters is whether or not you have a degree. That’s what you spend four years obtaining, spending thousands of dollars in tuition, racking up debt, and spend late nights studying while pounding Red Bull. It all to ensure that your options in the job market will be greater than they would if you did not do your time getting a degree. What is more, you’re degree itself is just proof that you graduated from college. But considered there are bankers with degrees in literature, what you learned during your undergrad years are not what employers are concerned with. They want to see if you can learn, and finish what you start cause anyone can start college, but if you’re serious about it, you’ll stick with it and pay lots more tuition.

I would say the traditional definition means having obtained a bachelors degree from an accredited university. Technical schools are not colleges, they are subject to their own accreditation systems and guidelines, but would not fall under the "college educated" umbrella. Associates degrees are considered "some college" under most guidelines, since an actual bachelors degree program has not been completed yet. Online schools are iffy, I think you’ll find that most people are still skeptical of some of them, but a couple of the larger online programs have decent accreditation and would definitely be considered a college education.

Yes… although online classes can be kind of a joke… so in my opinion and all online degree isn’t really a college education.

College educated usually means you have a BA or a BS from a 4 year college. Fully online universities are looked down upon, but you can get online degrees from real, physical universities and no one will know that you took all your classes online.
