Does an accredited online graduate program weigh same as campus based graduate program?

Monday Apr 5, 2010

I am trying to decide if i should go the online route or the tradition campus route when getting my Masters in Counseling. Does anyone have any good, reliable feedback on this from experience. I wonder whether i will have a difficult time getting recognition having takin the online route. The school i am looking at is Capella University. It is accredited as well as CACREP accredited. Any insight?

"Capella University. It is accredited as well as CACREP accredited."

Capella is CACA. Do not waste your time and money at this worthless school.

While you might find emplyment as a counselor with an online degree from a for-profit school, your colleagues would snicker at your credentials your entire career. You would never live it down…

Incidentally, below is how Capella treats students who are critical of the school

RoaringMice:

In general, many employers look down on degrees – especially graduate degrees – that are granted by for-profit universities like Capella. And yes, doing it online can be an issue.

If you *must* do it online, at least do it from a reputable, traditional, brick and mortar university.

Do not waste your time or money on a school like that, employers will laugh at you.
