I am looking for public, state university systems that have online graduate degree programs?

Tuesday Dec 1, 2009

I am not picky about the state, but I am looking for a degree that is offered online (in its entirety). I have found a handful of schools, but am sure there are more out there. All I need is the name of the school, and I can take the research from there. Thanks.

No problem. Graduate programs – master’s degrees, right? And state schools – no private colleges.

Here are some:
- Penn State U
- U Maryland
- UMass Amherst
- UMass Lowell
- UMass Dartmouth
- UMass Boston
- Ball State

- Iowa State U
- SUNY Buffalo
- SUNY Institute of Technology (Utica/Rome)
- U Illinois Urbana Champaign

I’m sure there are others as well, but this will get you started. In fact, the colleges in the middle and central western states have a long history of providing distance education to populations in the remote areas of their states. If you’re interested in a particular school out there, it would be worth your time to go directly to their website and see what they offer.

Graduate degree programs have not caught up to the under graduate programs for on-line study. Basically many of the graduate programs do require "lab" work which may need to be done with a mentor at the university. I suggest you contact anyone in the discipline you’re following and ask them. Else, let Google.com help with their search engine. Also try http://www.fastweb.com they are a good start. Good luck and stay focus.

Try Capella University. It has several different graduate opportunities. The web address is capella.edu

I know that the University of Nebraska at Lincoln has an extensive offering of distance education classes. I have been working on my Master’s through them, and have gained nearly all of my credits online. I think it would depend on what you are looking for in a graduate degree (What you want your degree in) but I think that a lot of them are willing to work with you.
