How do universities look at Online schooling?

Monday Apr 19, 2010

Currently finishing my year on Online Schooling. (From canada btw).

Wondering if graduating from an online school would hurt my chances of getting into good universities, and what if its like "Grade 11 Online, Grade 12 School", would they look at this as worse than someone that went to a normal highschool for the duration? Or is it the diploma (which is the same certificate you get from normal highschool in my area). Its "City Name" Online, not just a program.

Thanks!

i”m sure that there are online schools that are good.
there are also online schools that are junk.
i’d think that colleges would prefer an old style school.
while that’ll probably change in the future, it’s not likely to help you this year.

the real problem is, how does the online school know that you did your own homework, and took the tests yourself.
until they have a good solution for that, they will be considerably less credible.
